Tourism in North Kayong Regency, West Kalimantan has had a positive trend in recent years. This can be seen from the recorded number of tourists, namely 66,850 in 33 types of tourism in 2016. Simpang Hilir District is one of the locations that have agro-tourism potential that can be developed with good planning. Simpang Hilir sub-district has an existing coffee plantation that can be a means to improve the economy of the surrounding community as well as a regional macroeconomic driver.
The planning of Kampung Kopi as agro-tourism is using a 4A + 1CI approach, namely attractions, amenities, accessibility, ancillary, and community involvement which are aligned with the SWOT of the planning location is a coffee plantation.
The strategy taken to develop Kampung Kopi is to build physically and non-physically that will support agro-tourism activities such as road facilities, camping ground, outbound areas, coffee processing cultivation, coffee shops, and coffee museums, parking facilities, toilets, garbage, worship. , security posts, inns, gazebos, information centers, and others whose implementation also involves the community.
